Chippy Wood and The Country

My Halloween weekend was spent in the country with my FarmBoy. Saturday was a drizzly day which included a stubborn migraine and a sick horse (he is now okay) but Sunday was sunny and a lovely leafy crisp.

What a difference two weeks makes~ that beautiful tree has now lost most of it's leaves!

I ventured out into the sun to snap some pictures.

Isn't the slanted wood on the door of this building unique?

Um, two years ago I would not have been drooling over the chippy white boards on this old homestead! Now I noticed peeling paint on everything. Will I need to seek professional help for this? I'm gonna work on getting first dibs on the wood if this is torn down. I suppose that makes me feel better! Just imagine the signs and frames I could make.......sigh.

Or better yet, have FarmBoy make me a few. Here is what he's started for me with some old barn wood!! He hit a snafu but I gave him a deadline to get it finished. I want to work on a wall of frames and this will be my centerpiece. I'm encouraging him to make up a few I can stencil and sell at All That Jazz Vintage.

I didn't go inside the old homestead. It looked a little spooky, even on a sunny day. After all- it was Halloween!

Sunday finished with a horseback ride into the pine-carpeted woods. We even saw a flock of wild turkeys! A sure sign that Thanksgiving is on it's way....

Hey, I don't have a Farmboy to help me make my projects! Does he hire out cheaply? Hee hee! We have had some beautiful days thrown in with all the rain. I LOVED today! Tomorrow it's back to the clouds. Dang. See ya in a couple days!
