Fun in the Snow and an OPEN HOUSE!

It's a few days late, but I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday. It's hard to believe in a few short weeks, we will be wishing each other a Merry Christmas!

I had a nice time at my grandparents' with my family. I got to see two of my favorite cousins, the lovely sisters on the right side of me.

Of course you'll recognize Tara in the middle, my lovely partner in crime at All That Jazz Vintage who also was responsible for the amazing display work in our last post!!  Next to her is Tena. If she lived in the same state we would probably try to rope her into joining us in our little venture! Heck, we might anyway!

Oh, and who is the cute little pop-tart making the funny face in the middle? That would be their nephew (my second cousin) who the family adoringly refers to as the "Man Cub."

After festivities with the family, I spent the rest of the holiday weekend with Farmboy. I was happy to discover that he had a lot of snow at his place!

I don't think I've ever had a white Thanksgiving, or at least not since childhood!

I also got to visit with the Lizzy pup who is growing bigger and is about the cutest strawberry blonde you've ever seen! Here she is helping hold up the seat in the ole feed truck.

Whatcha see over there, Lizzy?

Oh, yea! Farmboy is tearing boards off that old homestead. To make some picture frames, perhaps?

The ones that don't end up on my wall will be available for sale in the shop!

We also went to get me a tree in the woods. I was so excited, I have never had my own real tree, not since I had roommates during my post-college years. We tromped through the snow with the dogs in search of the perfect tree.

I ended up finding one a little bigger than I thought I'd get, but it had a nice shape. Wild trees are more sparse then trees that have been farmed and pruned.

I have the tree in the stand but have not had time to decorate it yet. I can't wait to do that this weekend!

Speaking of this weekend, there will be a  Holiday Open House Sale at the shop! Saturday December 4th, from 3-7 p.m. the shop our space is in, the Painted Lady Vintage, as well as other shops in downtown, will be open. We'll have treats and they'll be lots of great discounts. If you are in the area, be sure to stop on in and say hello!

The tree is a wee bit sparse! I know you'll make it look fabulous! That little man in the middle of all those girls is awful cute. He had a man-sized fit at bedtime tonight.

Lizzy is ADORABLE!!! I can bet she is a little bundle of energy and trouble though. She just screams mischief. Can't wait til Saturday, I hope we sell out. Well maybe not all out. That could be a problem.

So glad to hear you had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday with your loved ones, Michelle! Love all of the pictures... what fun... and look at all of that beautiful snow!!

Much luck at your open house Christmas sale this weekend! Wish I could be there... sounds like fun!

p.s. Thanks so much for your sweet comments about my pictures. :) I just have a fairly inexpensive Kodak point and shoot... no special lens or anything like that. There are special settings on most cameras for close ups, and I noticed that I get a better picture if I turn the flash off when taking pictures (less glare and more true color). There's also a setting on my camera where you can adjust the lighting. This is a HUGE help if you don't have good lighting when taking your pics. I found all of these settings in my camera guide book one day. I hope that helps. :)
Take care! xo
