Girl's Night Out!

Our downtown area has a special night twice a year called Girl's Night Out. Shoppers can purchase a "passport" to participating businesses and the chance to win prizes and snack on treats,  all while shopping great sales at fabulous stores! I went in to All That Jazz a few days ahead of time to stock up and add some more fall decor to the mix.

This is my favorite event of the year and the night was a success! Lots of lovely ladies out
and about getting their shopping mojo on!

The UPS Truck

Does anyone else get as excited as I do when you are expecting a package and you hear the UPS truck rolling down the road?  So WHAT was in the box exactly?

Cece Caldwell Paint and wax! Yipee! I have been mainly working with Annie Sloan Chalk Paint for the last year and still love it but I am curious to try this paint line.  It's completely non toxic and made entirely from plant based and natural materials. So it will be nice and healthy to work around, live with and very friendly to the environment.

Next week I have two more packages get excited about. More Annie Sloan, I need to restock to finish current projects and a delivery of Miss Mustard Seed's Milk Paint. I can't WAIT to try that! Hopefully it won't be a disaster, I have read it can be tricky. Fun times!

Oh yeah, do you want a peek at the buffet I got at a garage sale last weekend?

Whatcha think?

I'm waiting on that paint delivery I mentioned to finish this and a dining table/4 chair set I am painting to match, although they won't necessarily have to be sold together.  So she will sit for a bit and I will be getting to work on a couple Cece Caldwell pieces!

Don't forget to visit All That Jazz on facebook to sign up for one of 2 giveaways I'm giving out!

Ode To A Cabinet

Last month I sold my antique chippy green and white cabinet!

I bought the cabinet from Lisa at Pole Barn Primitives~when she was selling out of her garage a few times a year. Now she has her own shop and is open 4 days a week! I knew instantly it would look great in our space and was the first substantial and really really old piece we had bought. In fact I loved it so much I put the dreaded NFS on it! A no no in retail I know but I needed one strong piece to use as a place to display things, a piece I didn't have to stress about it being gone at a moments notice.

At that time I had more partners and we had a lot more "smalls" we had to find a place for. It got to be a bit of a headache finding room to put things when a piece sold and there wasn't one to go in it's place. Hence the hunt for a shelf or other large permanent piece.

This is the day we brought it in and set it up. We immediately had interest but I was stubborn and said NOT for sale! Eventually I did put a price on it, one so high I thought for sure no one would bite!

Over the last 2 years she got gussied up and decorated for the seasons...

Held all sorts of treasures, come and gone...

Seen other pieces of furniture move in and move out...

Until a few weeks ago when I got the call that I had an offer. I paused for only a few seconds and thought, "You know what? I'm ready to let it go." So within days, she was gone. And I survived! Now I look forward to hunting down that next piece I can fall in love with and put another NFS tag on it, hee hee hee! Farewell chippy shabby CABINET, it was great to have had you at All That Jazz!

A View of All That Jazz and an Update

All That Jazz keeps plucking on. After a couple slower months over the winter things are beginning to pick up as people come out of hibernation.

One major change to tell you about, as of a few weeks ago I am officially the sole proprietor of All That Jazz. When we started nearly 2 years ago, there were 5 of us, my Cousin Michelle, my Nana, my Aunt, my Mom and myself.

Michelle and my Nana left last Summer and I my Aunt and Mom decided they didn't want to be involved anymore after the first of the year. I've actually been running 95% of our part of Jazz for the last year and a half anyway so it won't be that big of a change and I'm sure my Mom and Aunt will want to help out occasionally with some of the funner decoration/shopping bits., hopefully! It's more fun when you have someone to play with.

I took a few smaller pieces in last weekend but am feeling that old urge to really
move things around again. Possibly in a big way, really do some Spring cleaning!
I am also planning a giveaway in honor of the 2nd Anniversary of All That Jazz, so stay tuned.

Hope you're all having a terrific week!

February rolls around tomorrow and I have Jazz all decked out for Valentine's Day. Well, I went for the minimalist approach and just added a few hearts here and there.

It's always fun for me to shift things around and bring in new stuff.
Hope all is well in your world!
